A Basin-Establishing
Discovery

Led discovery of over 300 MMbbl of oil and over 2 Tcf of natural gas. Established 50,000 bbl/d of production. Added billions of dollars in value to the operator's balance sheet.

Project Overview

JAWF Basin Discovery

The JAWF Basin discovery in Yemen stands as one of the signature achievements in Dolomite's principals' long careers — a basin-establishing event that transformed an underexplored region into a major producing area.

GEOLOGICAL THESIS

The JAWF Basin presented a complex but compelling geological case — requiring the kind of integrated seismic and stratigraphic analysis that only a seasoned geophysics team could confidently evaluate before committing exploration capital.

DISCOVERY

Led identification and drilling of the discovery well. The result was a major find: 300M+ barrels of recoverable oil and more than 2 Tcf of natural gas — a discovery that redefined the basin's commercial potential.

DEVELOPMENT

Following discovery, led development of production to 50,000 barrels per day — establishing the JAWF Basin as a producing area and transforming the operator's reserve base.

LEGACY

The JAWF discovery remains one of the highest-impact achievements in the team's careers — a testament to the geological insight and operator relationships that form the foundation of Dolomite's approach.
